Did I say summer of skirts?  Well, I have to add: dresses, apparently.  This one is based on this pattern.  And, of course, the post comes full of photos of Fiona wearing it.  I have another one in the works, hopefully I will be able to show it soon.

I made a skirt for Fiona with no pattern, my first!  I used linen and cotton.  This was a prototype and there are a few things that I would like to improve, but I am pretty happy with it and I can't wait to make more.  This is the summer of skirts, I think.

Le hice esta pollera/falda a Fiona y, por primera vez, no use molde o patron.  Las telas son lino y algodon.  Esta fue para practicar y hay algunas cosas que me gustaria mejorar, pero estoy bastante conforme y no veo la hora de hacer mas!

And I can never choose one photo of her, so here go a few of my model.

I decided to post an inspiring image or images every Friday {I still have so many more photos I would like to share with you!}, you are welcome to join me.  These are all about spring, flowers and beauty.

Decidi entrar una/s imagenes inspiradoras todos los viernes {todavia tengo tantas fotos que quiero compartir!}, si queres, acompan~ame con tus imagenes.  Estas paginas tienen todo que ver con la primavera, las flores y las cosas lindas.

I don't remember where I got the first two pages, the last page is from the latest Martha Stewart Weddings.  It is so full of inspiration that while I was browsing it I started hyperventilating a little.  Does it ever happen to you that when you feel so inspired and start imagining all the things you want to make you feel a little lightheaded?  Or is it just me that is weird?  Anyway, have a wonderful weekend!

No me acuerdo de donde saque las dos primeras paginas, la tercera es de la ultima revista Martha Stewart Weddings.  Esta tan llena de inspiracion que cuando pasaba las paginas y veia las imagenes me empezo a faltar un poco el aire.  Te pasa que cuando te sentis tan inspirada y empezas a imaginar todas las cosas que queres hacer te sentis un poco mareada?  O soy yo un 'poco' rara?

Winter:  we went to the mountains this weekend so Fiona could see the snow for the first time.  She looooved it.  We will be escaping to these same mountains during the summer heat in the city as often as we can.

Invierno:  fuimos a las montan~as este fin de semana para que Fioni conozca la nieve.  Le encanto!  Durante el verano sofocante nos vamos a escapar a estas mismas montan~as todas las veces que podamos.

I am so glad we live close to such a beautiful place.

Que lindo que es poder vivir tan cerca de un lugar como este.

taking off in style/partida con estilo

I dream with:  a town, a city where I can feel at home, a house in which I would want to live forever {or at least for many, many years}, a vegetable garden, a flower garden, a studio where I could sew, paint and all the other things I want to do, nice neighbors with kids Fiona's age, a tight community, little stores where I could walk to and where I would know the owners {that work in them instead of employees}, friends that lead a creative life and that would inspire me to create {some of you are those friends}, the ocean close by...

But I also dream with:  traveling, living in different countries so we {and mostly Fiona} could learn from the different cultures, being free, the unexpected, only owning what fits in my suitcase, selling my creations to little stores that we find on our way, driving through Argentina...

Did I say I am full of contradictions?  Anyway, today is the last post of the inspiration month and I thought these were perfect for it. If/when I was to travel, I would not mind doing it in one of these:

Suen~o con:  una ciudad en la que me sienta muy comoda, una casa en la que quiera vivir toda la vida {o, por lo menos, por muchos, muchos an~os}, tener un jardin donde pueda plantar vegetales y frutas, tener otro jardin con flores que pueda cortar y poner en distintos floreros en toda la casa, un estudio donde pueda coser, pintar y todas las otras cosas que quiero hacer, vecinos simpaticos que tengan hijos de la edad de Fiona, una comunidad, negocios chiquitos a donde pueda ir caminando y conocer a todos los duen~os {que trabajan en ellos, en vez de empleados}, amigos que vivan una vida creativa y que me inspiren a crear {algunas de ustedes son esas amigas}, el mar cerca...

Pero tambien suen~o con:  viajar, vivir en distintos paises asi poder {sobre todo Fiona} aprender de las distintas culturas, ser libre, lo inesperado, solo ser duen~a de lo que entre en mi valija, vender las cosas que hago a los distintos pequen~os negocios que encontremos en el camino, hacer un viaje en casa rodante por toda la Argentina...

Dije que estoy llena de contradicciones, no?  Bueno, hoy es mi ultima entrada de este mes de inspiracion y me parecio que estas imagenes eran perfectas para el caso.  Si {o cuando} viaje, me encantaria hacerlo en alguno de estos:

passion for fashion

I am surprised I didn't post more fashion inspiration during this month, but I am still inspired by clothes, fabrics and the process of creating garments. 

Me sorprende que no haya puesto mas fotos de moda durante este mes porque la ropa, las telas y todo el proceso de la moda me resulta super-inspirador.

It is no secret by now that I love glasses, and like those fabrics too.
Ya se sabe que me encantan los anteojos, tambien me gustan esas telas.

Sometimes I like the photograph better than the fashion itself, like in this case.

This living room seems so inviting to me, the collection of bottles, the candles, the butterfly chairs {did you know they were designed by Argentineans?}, the fireplace...
Este living me parece tan calido, me encanta: la coleccion de botellas, las velas, las sillas mariposa {sabias que fueron disen~adas por dos argentinos?}, el hogar...

The wallpaper, the lamp...but what sold me was the Neruda book {just in case you didn't know, I am a big Neruda fan}.
El empapelado, la lampara...pero lo que me convencio de esta foto fue el libro de Neruda {por si no sabias, me encanta Neruda}.

And talking about being comfortable...I met Jen on Saturday for the most lovely afternoon, we went thrifting  and then we had lunch together {those are our feet above, she loves shoes}.  She is warm, loving, generous and has such great taste!  I am really hoping for another visit soon.  Thank you, Jen, it was a true pleasure meeting you!
Y hablando de sentirme comoda...me encontre con Jen el sabado y pasamos una tarde divina, fuimos al negocio de antiguedades y despues almorzamos juntas {esos son nuestros pies, a ella le encantan los zapatos}.  Jen es calida, amorosa, generosa y tiene tan buen gusto!  Ya tengo unas ganas de que me visite de nuevo!.  Gracias, Jen!  fue realmente un placer conocerte.

Cooking is my latest creative love.  I find it so satisfying when Dave or Fiona like what I make.  The act of cooking is full of love to me.  And I wouldn't mind doing it in these kitchens.

Me estoy enamorando de la cocina como algo creativo.  Me encanta cuando a Dave o a Fiona le gusta lo que hago de comer.  El acto de cocinar esta lleno de amor para mi y no me vendria mal una de estas cocinas.
