• anknel and burblets:  charlotte is so very creative and such a kind person, she started blogging not so long ago and she is already making waves with her beautiful lovelies, i just want to fly to New Zealand to hang out with her.

• Anastasia Drawing and Dreaming:  another creative and super-sweet blogger.  When I visit her blog, I feel at home, her vintage finds are amazing and her illustrations so beautiful!

• beauty that moves:  i love to read Heather's posts and see how she practices yoga in everything she does.  She started this site and I think it is a wonderful idea.
• beauty that moves:  me encanta leer lo que escribe Heather, me gusta ver como ella practica el yoga en todo lo que hace.  Ella empezo esta pagina y me parece una idea genial.

• Mother Rising:  Wendy's blog is full of treasures, from the way she talks about her little Satchel to the recipes, to the reading recommendations.  She is a wonderful artist and one of the kindest bloggers I know.

• floresita:  I met her through flickr and I have always admired her embroidery pieces.  She started feeling stitchy, one of my favourite 'must reads', if you like embroidery you have to visit it.  And like the other bloggers, Flor is so kind.

late/tarde

It seems that I am late with this post -I said I was going to be back soon- and with this gift.  This is a bag I made for Dave's mom, my mother-in- law, whose birthday was at the beginning of July.  But I am trying to be kind with myself and see that I accomplished what I set out to do instead of how late it is going to get to her {i still have to take it to the post office!}.

Parece que estoy llegando tarde con esta entrada {prometi que volvia pronto} y con este regalo.  Este es un bolso que hice para la mama de Dave, mi suegra, que cumplio an~os a principios de julio.  Pero estoy tratando de ser bondadosa conmigo misma y poner la atencion en el hecho de haber terminado lo que me propuse, en vez de pensar en lo tarde que le va a llegar {todavia tengo que llevarla al correo!}.

Sue travels frequently in her car between two cities so I thought a reversible tote with lots of pockets would be useful to put her books on tape, glasses and whatever else she needs for the road.  I used red {a colour she likes a lot} linen and heavy cotton. 

Sue viaja seguido en su auto entre dos ciudades, entonces pense que un bolso reversible con muchos bolsillos podia serle practico para poner sus libros en CD, sus anteojos y otras cosas que necesite para el viaje.  Use lino rojo {un color que le gusta mucho} y una tela de algodon estampada. 

I added a flower brooch to the red side and she can take it out and put is somewhere else if she wants to.  I was thinking of putting a tutorial together for the flower if there is some interest, what do you think?

Le agregue un prendedor con flor al lado rojo, que ella puede quitar si tiene ganas y ponerlo en otro lado.  Estaba pensando en hacer un tutorial de la flor, si hay interes, que te parece?

Friday was Friendship Day so I wanted to send a big hug to all my friends, the ones who live far away, the ones that are close, the ones I got to know through my blog, the ones that visit me here and I still haven't met.

El viernes fue el dia del amigo, una buena oportunidad para mandarles un abrazo apretado a todos mis amigos, los que viven lejos, los que estan cerca, los que conoci a traves de mi blog y los que me visitan pero todavia no conozco.  Millones de besos!

It has been unbelievably hot here, so we have been escaping to the mountains every chance we get.  And this is pretty much what we do while there:

Hace muchisimo calor aca, asique nos escapamos a las montan~as cada momento que podemos.  Y esto es practicamente todo lo que hacemos cuando estamos ahi:

And this is what I did in the car on our way there, one each of the three times we went.  I am planning on cutting each letter and frame them in little frames and hang them on the wall over Fiona's big girl bed.  I am using different shades of pink floss.  I still have to embroider a few more, that means more trips to the mountains!  It seems that every time I will see them I will remember this summer and its beautiful gifts, the discoveries, the time together, the smell of the trees...
I am so grateful that we live close to this beautiful place, it is amazing that such a landscape could be surrounded by desert.

Y esto es lo que hago en el auto cuando vamos a las montan~as, uno por cada viaje.  Quiero cortar cada letra y enmarcarlas con marquitos chiquitos y colgarlos en la pared de la cabecera de la cama de Fiona.  Use diferentes tonos de hilo rosa.  Todavia tengo que bordar unas cuantas mas, eso quiere decir:  mas viajes a las montan~as!  Siento que cada vez que vea estos bordados me voy a acordar de este verano y los hermosos regalos que nos dio:  los descubrimientos, los momentos que pasamos juntos, el olor de los pinos...
Me pone tan contenta vivir cerca de un lugar tan lindo, es increible que este paisaje este rodeado de desierto.
Vuelvo pronto {lo prometo} con un proyecto terminado.  Besos!

Dave's mum was in town, the other 'ab' {from abuela}.  The two grandmas back to back, I don't know how I am going to do to keep the level of attention this little girl has received in the last couple of months.

La mama de Dave vino a visitarnos, la otra 'ab' {de abuela}.  Dos visitas seguidas de las abuelas, no se como voy a hacer para mantener el nivel de atencion que ha recibido esta nenita en los ultimos meses.

As you can see, there wasn't much time for crafting, but I just started this skirt for Fiona, my first piece of clothing!

Como pueden ver, no tuve mucho tiempo para crear, pero recien empece esta falda para Fiona, la primera vez que coso ropa!
