it makes me happy.../me hace feliz...

to go to the farmer's market on Wednesdays, to buy fresh vegetables and fruits, to cook for my family {almost} every night, to hear Fiona and Dave's voices while I am cooking, when Dave tries the food and tells me "this is great, babe" {even if it is the millionth time I cooked it, he always appreciates it, truly the light of my life}.

ir a la feria los miercoles y comprar verduras y frutas frescas, cocinar para mi familia {casi} todas las noches, escuchar las voces de Fiona y Dave mientras cocino, cuando Dave prueba la comida y me dice "esto esta buenisimo, babe" {aunque sea la millonesima vez que hago el mismo plato, siempre me agradece, es realmente la luz de mi vida}.

modern leaves/hojas modernas

I was experimenting/playing again.  This time embroidering on a leaf, it was a very satisfying experiment.  And while I was at it a couple of things occurred to me:  1)  I have been using leaves in one way or another while creating and 2)  human beings used to wear leaves as clothes {or so it is believed} and I am embroidering "modern leaves" on one.
I only brought two of these leaves from our vacation in Florida with me, I love them and they are a great surface for embroidering.  I don't even know the name, they were all over the ground.  So, if you live in that area or you know the name of the plant/tree would you tell me?  I would love to get more.

Estuve experimentando de nuevo.  Esta vez borde en una hoja, fue un experimento que me encanto.  Y mientras que lo hacia, se me ocurrieron dos cosas:  1)  ultimamente vengo usando hojas en casi todas mis creaciones y, 2)  los seres humanos usaban hojas como ropa hace mucho tiempo {o eso se piensa} y yo ahora estoy bordando las "hojas" que usamos actualmente sobre una.
Solo traje dos de estas hojas conmigo de la Florida cuando fuimos de vacaciones.  Me encantan y son una superficie buenisima para bordar.  Ni siquiera se el nombre, pero estaban por todos lados.  Si vivis por ahi o sabes el nombre de la planta/arbol, me lo podes decir?  me encantaria poder conseguir mas.
Que puedas encontrar creatividad y alegria en todo lo que haces esta semana!

record keeping/llevar cuentas

I am not very good at it.  I didn't write down when Fiona cut her first tooth, when she said her first word, when she stood up or walked for the first time.  I hope she forgives me when she grows up, and I hope the photographs {I am good at that} and all the love somewhat make up for the other things.  I always try, I started so many journals and this is her baby book:

No soy muy buena para eso.  No anote cuando Fiona corto el primer diente, ni cuando dijo la primera palabra, ni cuando se paro o camino por primera vez.  Espero que me perdone cuando crezca y espero que las miles de fotos {para eso soy buena} y todo el amor que le tenemos pueda compensar la falta de "datos".  Siempre intento hacerlo, empece un monton de diarios o journals y este es el libro de bebe de Fiona:

Otra "foto" y la ultima pagina, que todavia tengo que terminar, tengo que bordar el nombre y los garabatos del alrededor.  Ves?  la intencion esta, falta la disciplina.

Hi!  here is the other onesie i made for the baby boy.  The robot is, like the rocket, applique with embroidery.  I found inspiration in this book, one of my favourites. 

Hola!  aca esta el otro enterito para el mismo bebe.  El robot, como el cohete, esta hecho con applique y bordado.  Encontre inspiracion en este libro, uno de mis preferidos.

I feel much more rested, thank you!  I did take a short nap the other day and made me feel better.  It makes me wonder how I did it when Fiona was a little baby {not that long ago!} and I almost didn't get any sleep.

This is for a little baby boy who is still in his mum's belly.  I am working on another one that i will hopefully finish soon.
I have been going to bed late and Fiona has been waking up way too early, not a good combination.  So I don't feel coherent enough to write more than this.  Off to take a nap while I can!

Este enterito es para un bebito que todavia esta en la panza de su mama.  Estoy haciendo otro mas que espero terminar pronto.
En los ultimos dias me estuve acostando tarde y Fiona se estuvo despertando muuuuy temprano, no es una buena combinacion.  No me siento lo suficientemente lucida como para escribir mas que esto.  Me voy a dormir una siestita mientras puedo!

bird things/cosas de pajaros

Do you remember these?  Well, they became these, little plaques to hang anywhere.  I painted, decoupaged, and used little birds and twigs from my walks in the mountains {just the twigs, not the birds}.   

Te acordas de esto?  Bueno, se convirtieron en esto, placas adornadas para colgar en cualquier rincon.  Pinte, hice decoupage y use pajaritos y ramas que encontre durante mis caminatas en las montan~as.
