wishing for the holidays/mis deseos para las fiestas

We are going to be with family for the holidays, so I am signing off for a few days, but first I wanted to wish all of petunia's visitors the most wonderful holidays. 

Nos vamos a pasar las fiestas en familia, asique no voy a estar por aca por unos dias, pero primero queria desearles a todos los que visitan petunia unas muy, muy super-felices fiestas.

I made these with paper doilies, inspired by the cover of marie claire idees.

Hice estos adornos con carpetas de papel, encontre la inspiracion en la tapa de la revista marie claire idees.

And this is a wip that may not happen.  I am not crazy about the way I constructed the stockings {that happens when you are in a hurry}, so I don't know if I am going to use one of my favourite vintage ribbons on them.  It was a challenge to sew velvet, there is fuzz all over the house!

Y esto es un proyecto por terminar que muy probablemente no se termine.  No me gusta como cosi las botas {eso pasa cuando se hacen las cosas a las apuradas}, asique no se si usar una de mis cintas viejitas preferidas ellas.  Coser el terciopelo fue dificil y la casa esta llena de peluzas!

Though the combination of the velvet with the silver is really beautiful.  We'll see...

Aunque la combinacion del terciopelo con el color plata de la cinta es muy linda.  Vamos a ver...

A little announcement:  I opened my etsy shop, Petunia's Place.  I have been thinking about it for a long time and I finally did it.  This is not easy for me, to announce it here.  I don't want you to think I am pressuring you into buying anything.  But it is because of the encouragement of the people who read my blog, together with my family, that I finally found the courage to put my stuff out there.  I listed my birds, it is time to let them fly.
I will keep them in the shop till December 15 and then take them down.  The last day of shipping will be December 17.  Thank you!

Un pequen~o anuncio:  abri mi negocio en etsy, se llama Petunia's Place.  Lo estuve pensando por mucho tiempo y finalmente lo hice.  Esto no es facil para mi, anunciarlo aca.  No quiero que piensen que los estoy presionando para que compren algo.  Pero es gracias al apoyo y a las palabras tan lindas de las personas que visitan mi blog y de mi familia que finalmente encontre el coraje para abrir el negocio y poner algunas de las cosas que hago a la venta {que nervios!}.  Por ahora los pajaritos estan buscando un nuevo hogar, es tiempo de dejarlos volar.  Estaran alli hasta el 15 de diciembre, el ultimo dia de envio va a ser el 17 de diciembre.  Mil gracias!

Saturday was the big day and I think everybody had fun, including the parents and especially the birthday girl.  Seeing her that happy melts my heart.  Here are some pics:

Our garage became a movie theatre/disco.  Dave has the most brilliant ideas and he did such a wonderful job!  Fiona is in first row watching one of her favourite DVDs before the guests arrived.
Nuestro garage se convirtio en un cine/discotheque.  Dave se paso, la verdad, tiene unas ideas brillantes.  Fioni esta sentadita en primera fila viendo uno de sus videos preferidos antes que lleguen los invitados.

My sweet girl after blowing the candles.  You can't see the cake very well here, but it is obvious I need more practice in the cake decorating department.
Mi chiquita dulce justo despues de soplar las velitas.  Aca no se puede ver bien la torta, pero es obvio que necesito practica con el tema de decorar tortas.

Favors.  I used different fabrics and decoupaged wooden tags with paper and each child's initial.
Regalitos para los invitados.  Use distintas telas para las bolsitas y a las etiquetas de madera las decore con papel y la inicial de cada chico.
