Going South/Llendo al Sur

We are going to Argentina!  On Monday I will be walking on my beloved Buenos Aires' streets.  I hope I will be able to post from there {my mom doesn't have a computer, so I will have to go to the internet store}, but I will take lots of photos!  And I think I will even meet at least two other bloggers!
Please send us your good thoughts as we are going to be flying with Fiona and our little dog to Miami first.  I'll be back in the middle of December.

Nos vamos a Argentina!  El lunes voy a estar caminando por mis queridas calles de Buenos Aires.  Espero poder poner algun post desde alla {mi mama no tiene compu en la casa}, pero voy a sacar muchas fotos!  Y me parece que voy a encontrarme con, por lo menos, otras dos 'bloggeres"!
Por favor, manden buena energia, ya que vamos a viajar hasta Miami con Fiona y nuestro perrito primero.  Vuelvo a mediados de diciembre.

Unique dresses/Vestidos originales

I wanted to show you some dresses I find fascinating.  The fact that someone spends time and energy in making something so original is amazing to me.

Queria mostrarte unos vestidos que, para mi, son fascinantes.  Que alguien ponga tanto tiempo y energia para hacer algo tan original me alucina.

My mother in law is coming to visit for two weeks tomorrow.  I don't know if that will mean that I will have more crafting and organizing time {my closet is screaming at me} because she will look over Fiona or we will be out and about having fun all day...we'll see.  I hope I can post and show you something soon.

Mi suegra viene a visitarnos man~ana y se queda dos semanas.  Todavia no se si eso significa que voy a tener mas tiempo para hacer algo creativo y ordenar {mi closet me lo esta pidiendo a gritos}, ya que la va a cuidar a Fiona, o si vamos a estar todo el dia de aca para alla paseando...veremos.  Espero poder hacer algunos posts y mostrarte algo que hice pronto.

Influence of the moodboard 2/La influencia del moodboard 2

Last week I went thrifting and antiquing, with the same state of mind of the moodboard.  There aren't many good thrft stores and antique stores in this town, and the ones that are good are so expensive.  I still managed to find some things:  an old record storage box, a tool box to store my supplies in, books, a hat {for the millinery flowers}, some jewlery and a typewriter with its case and manual.  I also found a lamp {that I fell in love with} for the bed in Fiona's room.  I am sure I wouldn't win the $99 challenge, but the damage was small.
My parents used to go antiquing very often and I remember complaining about it, it was boring and I didn't like the smell... I wonder if Fiona is going to do the same.

La semana pasada fui de compras a negocios de segunda mano y a casas de antiguedades, con la inspiracion del moodboard.  No hay muchos negocios buenos de ese estilo donde vivo y los que son buenos son carisimos.  Pero igual encontre algunas cositas: una caja para guardar discos antiguos, una caja para herramientas donde guardo algunas de las cosas que uso para los collages, libros, un sombrero {para usar las flores}, algunas joyas y una maquina de escribir con su caja y su manual.  Tambien encontre una lampara para la cama del cuarto de Fiona, de la que me enamore.  Seguro que no ganaria el desafio de los $99, pero el dan~o monetario no fue muy grande.
Mis padres iban a casas de antiguedades muy seguido, me acuerdo que yo protestaba porque era aburrido y no me gustaba el olor...me pregunto si Fiona hara lo mismo.

Time/Tiempo

I know lists are very useful and helpful for lots of people.  In my case, lists can be overwhelming - all the things I have to do in one place, staring at me.  This week I have to get quite a few things done, and with Dave working 12 hours a day and Fiona crawling at high speed and exploring non-stop, it is a challenge.  So, to make things a little bit more fun and less overwhelming, I drew a list of packages I have to put together and send - somehow the drawings make it less stressful.  I am only showing the second page of my list {I don't want the recipients to find out what they are getting}.
Do you make lists?  What makes managing your time a little bit easier or simpler?

Yo se que mucha gente hace listas de las cosas que tienen que hacer y eso los ayuda mucho.  En mi caso es lo contrario, veo todo junto, en un lugar y me estresa.  Esta semana tengo que hacer un monton de cosas y, con Dave trabajando 12 horas al dia y Fiona gateando a toda velocidad e investigando absolutamente todo, digamos que se me esta haciendo un poco dificil.  Entonces, para alivianar un poco las cosas, dibuje la lista de los paquetes que tengo que mandar - por alguna razon los dibujitos son menos estresantes que las palabras.  Solo muestro la segunda pagina de mi lista porque no quiero que las futuras duen~as se enteren de lo que van a recibir.
Y vos, haces listas?  Hay algo que te ayude a organizar tu tiempo de una forma mas facil o simple?

Influence of the moodboard/La influencia del moodboard

Last Monday's moodboard did its job by setting the mood of the week.  I bought this dress {that goes great with my favourite shoes and the coral necklace I made!}.  I love the fabric and the colours!  Dave thinks that it looks a little like a pregnancy dress, but I love this shape and I refuse to think that.  {Let's hope nobody asks me how far along I am.}  Yes, that headless person is me, I wasn't in the face picture taking mood.

El moodboard del lunes pasado cumplio con su tarea influenciando mi estado de animo durante la semana.  Compre este vestido {que va barbaro con mis zapatos preferidos y el collar de coral que hice!}  Me encanta la tela y los colores!  Dave piensa que tiene un poco de vestido de embarazada, pero a mi me encanta, esta forma esta de moda y me niego a creerlo.  {Espero que nadie me pregunte de cuantos meses estoy.}  Si, esa persona sin cabeza soy yo, no tenia ganas de que mi cara salga en la foto.

Saturday we said goodbye to kitty, she left wrapped in a sea of blue and pink tulle.  Now she is with her new owner and the reports are happy.

El sabado nos despedimos de kitty, se fue envuelta en un mar de tul celeste y rosa.  Ahora vive con su nueva duen~a y, segun los reportes de la mama, estan felices juntas.

A little while ago, Marieke had a drawing to celebrate that she had finished her second journal and to thank her readers.  I was one of the lucky winners!  I was so excited because I love Marieke's blog and her style.  So today I received this beautiful package all the way from the Netherlands!
It has a brooch, a pin and her screenprinted cards {that you can buy in her shop, by the way}, and the envelope has the most beautiful stamps on it.  I love it all!  Thanks Maieke!

Hace unos dias, Marieke tuvo como una especie de rifa en su blog para celebrar que termino su segundo 'journal' y para agredecer a la gente que lee su blog.  Yo fui una de las ganadoras!  Estaba re-contenta porque me encanta su blog y su estilo.  Hoy recibi el paquete divino que llego desde Holanda!  Tiene un prendedor grande, otro mas chiquito y las tarjetas barbaras que hace {que se pueden comprar en su negocio} y el sobre tiene las estampillas mas lindas que he visto.  Me encanta todo!  Gracias Marieke!

And about the movie, has anybody seen the documentary Grey Gardens?  I watched this weekend and I am still fascinated with it.  Like Tod Oldham says in an interview about the movie, it is like a car wreck that you can't stop looking at.  I found it inspiring, sad, funny, revealing.  If you have seen it or plan to see it, let me know what you think.

La pelicula, alguien vio el documental 'Grey Gardens?'  Yo lo vi este fin de semana y todavia sigo fascinada.  Como dijo Tod Oldham en un reportaje que le hicieron acerca de la pelicula, es como un accidente de autos que no poder dejar de mirar.   A mi me parecio inspiradora, triste, graciosa, reveladora.  Si la viste o pensas verla, decime que te parecio.

And this little girl is teething.  So the number of naps went from 2 to 1, that means that her mom has less time to craft or do anything else. 

Y a esta nenita le estan saliendo dos dientes.  Asique las siestas pasaron de ser dos a ser una sola, eso significa que su mama no tiene tiempo para hacer manualidades o ninguna otra cosa.
