tea ritual

my little chamomile plant has been blooming.

mi plantita de manzanilla está floreciendo.

fiona and i have been picking the flowers and making our own tea.

fiona y yo le cortamos las florcitas e hicimos té.

we both love the ritual, and our little plant has been very generous, so we enjoyed many cups so far.

a las dos nos encanta el ritual del té y nuestra plantita es muy generosa con sus flores, asique ya preparamos y disfrutamos varias tazas.

now i have to figure out how to make pepermint tea.  have you ever made your own?

i made some chocolate bundt cakes from this recipe.

they tasted good, but they weren't very moist, but maybe it was my fault since i was in a hurry because i had to go get fiona at school...

son ricas, pero bastante secas para mi gusto.  tal vez fue mi culpa, ya que estaba apurada porque no llegaba a buscarla a fiona al cole...

it was dave's birthday on friday.  i so wanted to surprise him, but for the longest time i didn't know what to do.  then the day before his birthday i thought of decorating his car.  i did it after he went to sleep and the next morning, very early when he goes to work he found this:

el viernes fué el cumpleaños de dave.  lo quería sorprender, pero no se me ocurría nada hasta el día anterior.  la noche del jueves, despues que se fué a dormir, le decoré el auto y a la mañana siguiente, muy temprano, cuando se fué a trabajar, se encontró con esto:

(we took these pics after he came back from work).  i made the little bunting with paper scraps i already had.  fiona enjoyed the surprise as much as dave.

(sacamos las fotos después que volvió de trabajar). los banderines  los hice con papel que tenía en casa.  fiona también disfrutó mucho de la sorpresa.

swiss meringue buttercream with gumdrops.  it was a little crooked, but made with lots of love.

cobertura de crema con caramelos.  me salió un poquito torcida, pero la hice con mucho amor.

 

well, now it is time to dive full on into christmas.

bueno, ya pasaron los cumples, es hora de dedicarse a la navidad como corresponde.

weekend creativity/la creatividad del fin de semana

fiona had a cold this weekend {i guess it is to be expected when they start school, right? but, so fast?} and dave worked both days.  the result:  some creativity and some movies watched.  here is what we made:

fiona estuvo resfriada este fin de semana {supongo que es comun cuando van al colegio, no? pero, tan rapido?} y dave trabajo los dos dias.  resultado:  un poco de creatividad y varias peliculas.  estas son algunas de las cosas que hicimos:
